Welcome to my Service Learning Blog. In this blog you'll see my experience at MDC this past four months. My name is Isabella Mejia, I'm currently attending Miami Dade College (Hialeah campus) My major is Pre-med. This blog is for my ENC1101 class, where we have to post the events that we attend from MDC Empowered I attended three of them: - The Blogger Workshop - Thanksgiving Farmer's Market - Wellness Wednesday - Zombie Brains - Brain Games
BLOGGER WORKSHOP I went with my classmate, Jose. We have ENC1101 together. The instructor taught us step by step how to create a blog and how to edit, create new posts, add pictures, videos, gifs, and how to publish posts in it. He also told us the benefits of creating a blog. One of this is how useful it is for work interviews.
Thanksgiving Farmer's Market - Wellness Day Urban Oasis Project in a not-for-profit organization that believes that good, clean, healthy food should be accessible to all.On November 14th, they went to Miami Dade College (Hialeah Campus), and gave goodie bags to all of the students. I believe this is is such a beautiful thing to do, there are a lot of people in need of food and help.  Sometimes we see people in the streets and we don't know what to do. And they are able to help everyone. And even if you are not in need of food, a good act like this brightens up your day.
Brain Zombie Games Halloween I went with my classmates. We walked around the campus informing people about the games and how they could win win the prize. At the end we got two winners. The games were supposed to challenge your brain, you could either play video games in a computer or play Simon. Simon, is a game where it shows you a pattern of colors and you have to match it. And the prize was a super useful binder.
